day 12...getting there!!

last night i ate a slice of Pizza Hut pizza. it took about 3 glasses of water to accomplish because everything in my mouth needs to be mush for me to swallow it..haha but i DID it.

oh and today i ate a hot dog!!

day 10 and 11

each day slowly gets better and better. i usually only just wake up with pain and have some pain in my ears and stinging in my throat when i eat...that is when i'm able to eat. so far only accomplished mac and cheese. sigh.

days 8 and 9

not too much change. lots of stinging in my throat. managed to eat some baby oatmeal and potatoes. yay! went to the doctor today. healing is coming along normal. she said by next saturday i should be able to eat some hard foods..

hard foods? i'm not even on SOFT foods yet! hah

Days 6 and 7

well yesterday i still had a lot of pain. i woke up at 4:30pm! 

my dad took me to the grocery store and we picked up more pudding/jello AND grabbed a couple jars of baby food to try and one can of Gerber Graduates mashed potatoes. the baby food wasn't very good. i've heard only the fruity stuff is good. but the potatoes were SUPER yummy and i was SOOO excited to finally eat something. haha it's progress. i hadn't taken my meds for a couple hours so i was able to drive to work myself and get some more movies. yay. went to bed at 5:30am

which brings me to today: since i went to bed so damn late (early?) i JUST woke up now and it's 5pm. go me. i'm still in quite a bit of pain. it seems a little easier to swallow, but we'll see what happens if i try to drink or eat. i guess i'll just watch more movies today. le sigh. 

Day 5...miserable as hell

okay if i said i was in pain before...TODAY definitely trumps it. i woke up in excruciating pain in my throat, jaw, ears, and head. i started crying which really didn't help matters because it just put more strain on my throat. basically all i could do was take some more pain killers, get a fresh ice pack and go back to sleep. and of course...as soon as my meds wore off i woke up. 

did i mention the codeine gives me crazy dreams? yesterday at some point i dreamed i was on the Titanic and we had to pack clothes to swim in because we knew it was going to sink. and just now i had a dream it was thanksgiving and we had all this delicious food! gahhh. you can imagine my disappointment when i woke up....drooling, for that matter. 

i've been reading other people's blogs about their surgeries and most of it was on the dot...except for one thing. one blogger had said that when she drank it would go up her nose. but today...YAY it happened to me like twice already. fucksauce. makes you think twice about saying "down the hatch." it's like the water starts to go down my throat and then just re-routs itself and comes back up my nose. uck. 

i hate life today.

Day 4...with an outing!

so today, same drill: mom woke me up around 7ish to see how i was doing, took my meds, then fell back to sleep until about 1ish. I finished my stack of movies so mom brought me to work to pick up some more. The fresh air during the car ride was so nice! haha my mom was like "yea, you've been in a glass bubble" 

so i get to work and got lots of hugs! everyone asked how i was doing and then they all gave me a sweet Family Video tshirt that they all signed! =] it was super nice. i picked up like 8 more movies, then fell asleep around 5ish again until just now which is 10:12pm...haha. i finally put my contacts back in. weird city. ha, after having my glasses on for 4 days my eyes needed to readjust again. 

pain was still about the same today. it's usually pretty high unless i have my meds in me, then its a little more bearable. 

i'm hoping i can get a friend to come keep me company tomorrow. i are getting lonely =/

I'm watching Ice Age 2 now =] hopefully i'll stay awake for it's entirety. 

Day 3

ohhh my god, today has definitely been the worst so far. i woke up in excruciating pain which had also spread to my ears and jaw. NOT fun. i can barely even gag down my liquid meds. It's terrible because i'm actually getting an appetite. The cold shakes, ice, etc which were soothing before now just hurt like hell to swallow. I tried eating a frozen slim fast to get some food in my tummy...ouchie. everything hurts. I'm going to make a brave attempt at some KFC mashed potatoes and mac n cheese if mom will bring me some...just to get SOMETHING solid in my tummy. These meds make me so sleepy and i wanted to take another nap but i should stay awake to try to get more liquids down. 

oh, and yesterday i could talk...but today all i can really do is whisper...talking is sooo hard. and it hurts. blah. 

**edit** i was able to take a short shower today. it was nice to take a break from stink-ville.
